Spray Patterns for Every Weapon in Apex Legends – Apex Legends Wiki Guide

Every weapon in Apex Legends features predictable recoil spray patterns.
This means that every time you fire a weapon – try it out yourself by shooting at a wall in training mode – it will have the exact same spray pattern every time. By doing so, it allows players the opportunity to master the recoil patterns of their favorite weapons, without worrying that unpredictable recoil could potentially ruin their shots.
However, during a recent Twitch stream, former professional CS:GO player Shroud shared some rather surprising development details.
During the stream, Shroud explains how he played a significant part in designing the current weapon recoil system in Apex Legends, as Respawn Entertainment was at one point using a recoil system that was completely randomized – which didn’t feel right.
After making the suggestion of having pre-set recoil on every weapon in the game, he said Respawn Entertainment decided to take his advice and launch the game with predictable recoil – which is arguably one of their smartest decisions yet.
Weapon Spray Patterns
To help master the spray pattern of every weapon in Apex Legends, we have created a detailed graphic above that showcases the exact recoil pattern of every weapon.
Please note, the spray for each weapon begins at the bottom and works its way towards the top — the starting point is indicated by the green dot. To create these patterns, an entire standard magazine was fired. The Peacekeeper, Eva-8 Auto, Triple Take, and Mastiff are exceptions to this rule though, as their patterns indicate the spray from one single shot.
